An ISD is separate from other government entities (thus independent) and exists solely to run the public schools within its territory. Overall leadership of an ISD is entrusted to an elected school board. Funding is from a mix of property taxes levied by an ISD and funding from the State government.<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>This data was created by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and was obtained from their <\/SPAN><A href=\"https://schoolsdata2-tea-texas.opendata.arcgis.com/\" STYLE=\"text-decoration:underline;\"><SPAN>Open Data Site<\/SPAN><\/A><SPAN>. IT-GIS filtered the statewide dataset to the 16 county North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) service area prior to being loaded into the City's SDE database. Data can be updated on request. Most recent update was performed in August 2023.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/DIV><\/DIV><\/DIV>",
