description: In the wake of a nationally publicized police incident and resulting protests, the Fort Worth City Council decided in June 2017 to appoint a task force of community leaders who would advise the Council about important and timely issues relating to racial and cultural equity. The task force focused on a wide array of disparities affecting the quality of life in Fort Worth, pertaining directly or indirectly to six general topics: criminal justice, economic development, education, health, housing, and education. These census block group based boundaries were used in the analysis for the Task Force on Race and Culture.
