Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) - TODs are dense urban development areas located within 1/4 to 1/2 mile of commuter rail stations, modern streetcar stops, and similar fixed-route transit stations. Successful TODs contain a mix of uses, including higher density residential, and are carefully designed to be pedestrian-friendly and specifically oriented to the transit station or stop.
